Can you play Shroom and Gloom on mobile?
Not on a phone or an iPad. The developers have talked about touch controls on PC since the demo, though, which is why the question keeps coming up.

iPad is not the same as Mac
The Mac version on Steam needs a Mac. The store’s Mac minimum starts at 16 GB of memory on macOS 11.6.1, and the recommended chip is an Apple M1 Max. An iPad cannot install it whatever chip it has, because the only release is the Steam one for macOS and Windows. Check your Mac against the system requirements before buying.
Touch already works, on PC
A phone version is not the same as touch support, and the developers have described the second on PC since the game was a demo:
- During the demo: Asked about touch, the developers said all card play already worked with touch, dragging cards onto enemies included. The missing piece was moving forward: you still needed at least one key or button to walk through exploration, and they said they wanted to add a touch way to move (replying in Steam discussion: WIll this be touch compatible??, 19 August 2025).
- Later in the demo: On the Steam Deck, the developers named the touchscreen as their own favourite way to drag cards onto targets (replying in Steam discussion: Is this game designed for keyboard and mouse?, 18 June 2026).
- Early Access launch: The launch post added a card inspector, “which should help when playing the game on handheld devices” (in Steam announcement: Shroom and Gloom explodes into Early Access!, 10 September 2026). The same post announces no phone or tablet release.
None of that is a mobile announcement. It does mean a touchscreen Windows laptop or a Steam Deck is the nearest thing to tapping cards on a tablet; the Steam Deck page covers how well it runs there.
If a mobile version is ever announced
The ways to follow the studio listed on the Switch page work for news about any platform, phones included. Until then, the platforms board is where every device’s status sits side by side.
