Does Shroom and Gloom have multiplayer?

No. Every run is one player, one character and two decks, and nothing on the store page or in the Early Access plans points at playing together.

Online and co-op

Neither is part of the game. A run in Shroom and Gloom is you walking a first-person route through the dungeon with one character, alternating between an explore deck and a combat deck. The store page’s description is built around those two decks and says nothing about a second player. How the two decks work together is on cards and the two decks.

The Early Access notes list what the developers plan to add before 1.0: a new pathway, new character classes, and more quests and challenges on Shroom and Gloom on the Steam store, 10 September 2026. Multiplayer is not on that list. The full plan is on the Early Access and roadmap page.

Family Sharing is not multiplayer

Family Sharing appears in the game’s Steam feature list. It is a Steam account feature rather than a game mode, so it adds no way to play a run together. If a second person in your home wants their own copy instead, the price page covers the cost and the free demo.

Ways to enjoy it with other people anyway

  • Watch or stream it. The developers say they follow streams and let’s plays to see what is working: “We’ll also be watching streams and let’s plays, getting a clear sense of what is working in Early Access and where we can improve the experience.” From the Early Access notes on Shroom and Gloom on the Steam store, 10 September 2026
  • Compare builds. Players swap strategies in the Steam discussions (for example Steam discussion: Love the game, hate the janitor, 11 September 2026). The community page has the Discord and forum links.
