Is Shroom and Gloom coming to Switch?

A card game you play a run at a time looks made for a Nintendo handheld, and Switch players have been asking since the demo. Here is where that stands, and how to play it in your hands until something changes.

Switch 2 is in the same position

The developers’ FAQ was asked about “Switch” without a model number, and answered with a PC and Mac launch and a promise to look at other platforms later. That answer covers both consoles equally, and nothing the developers have posted since names either one. The full wording is on the platforms board, and the PS5 page breaks down what it commits them to.

What Switch players have asked

Neither thread rules a port in or out. The FAQ is still the developers’ answer to the question.

Steam flags graphics performance. Player reports run from no problems at all to choppy frame rates. Steam’s full report and the settings players change are on the Deck page.

Legion Go reports

One reviewer who beta tested before launch put a Legion Go with the Z1 Extreme at around 40 fps at 1920x1200 (in a Steam user review, 13 September 2026). Another, on a Legion Go S with the Z2, reported about 10 fps in low power mode and roughly 35 at maximum performance, and found battery drain a problem on the move (in a Steam user review, 13 September 2026).

Both are single players’ numbers, not benchmarks. Before buying for any handheld, compare it with the system requirements, and if you will play with sticks rather than a touchscreen, read controller support first.

How to hear first if a Switch port is announced

  1. Join the official Discord. The developers invite players there for development news: “Hang out with us on Discord!” (in Steam announcement: Release Date Reveal! Shroom and Gloom Aug Dev Log!, 22 August 2026). At launch they asked players to become part of it “to join future discussions about how we can continue to make Shroom and Gloom the best game it can be” (in Steam announcement: Shroom and Gloom explodes into Early Access!, 10 September 2026). Here is the official Discord invite.
  2. Follow the game on Steam. Following it from the store page puts its dev logs in your Steam feed, and the dev logs are where the release date and the launch were announced.
  3. Watch the pinned FAQ. The platform answer lives in a pinned post on the Steam discussion board, which the developers can edit when their answer changes.
  4. Check updates. This site follows the developers’ posts there, and a port announcement would be one of them.
